Getting Started
This site is used mostly for authentication, though it’s a full Discourse community (what my company has done mostly exclusively for the past decade).
Head over to https://www.refrunner.com/ to get started.
Here are some things to try:
- I’ve got a paper I’m about to submit Give your paper to RefRunner and it’ll check every paper that should have a DOI, make sure the reference matches, and insert missing DOIs. It also looks up a bunch of other stuff from OpenAlex, and finds books at the Library of Congress and the Open Library. There’s nothing to learn or install, and no AI. It’s supposed to Just Work, and Mostly it does.
- I’ve got a paper and am dreading looking all of the references Give your paper to RefRunner and it’ll find all of your (Author, year) citations and help you look them up. Most of the time, a single click is all that’s needed to insert the reference.
- I hate that Google Scholar doesn’t give me DOIs Click the scholar link at the top of the page. Search OpenAlex (less stuff than Google Scholar, but that’s mostly a good thing). You can build a reference list with a click per reference and format in any style.
